Job Description
J&C Pisani Ltd is one of Malta’s leading importers and distributors of a wide range of frozen and chilled products represented in most retail and HORECA establishments.
The company has been established since 1970 by the Pisani family who owns and runs the company and who have been involved in the food trade since 1884. In 1984 the company set up a subsidiary company, DewFresh products Ltd which began manufacturing a wide range of pork and beef processed products. J&C Pisani remains the sole distributor of Dewfresh Products. In view of the recent developments in business activity, the company is seeking to engage a full-time Food Packer.
The Food Packer is responsible for accurately consolidating and preparing customer orders of frozen food items for dispatch. This includes receiving merchandise from pickers, verifying items against the picking list, and ensuring orders are securely packed and correctly labeled.
The role demands attention to detail, as the Packer must prevent any missing or incorrect items from being delivered.
Duties also involve coordinating with pickers, labeling orders, and inputting data into the warehouse management system. Working in a temperature-controlled environment, the Packer ensures orders are handled safely and efficiently to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.
Applicants should ideally be in possession of the following skills and competencies:
- Minimum secondary education level with basic proficiency in English and Mathematics.
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics role is preferred, especially handling frozen goods.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy to be able to perform labeling through the established computer systems.
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and organizing frozen items in a cold environment.
- Self-motivated and possess good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work on own initiative, is well organized and meets deadlines
- Possesses a positive approach and attitude
