1kg Darta Frozen Strawberries
3 tbs Castor Sugar
2 tbs Cornflour
300g Cream Cheese
1 tbs Almond Essense
1 tbs Vanilla essense
2 tbs Icing Sugar
1/2 lemon juice
1 Short Crust Pastry Round
1 Egg
50g Hazel Nuts Crushed
100g Melting Chocolate
Icing Sugar for finish

Preheat oven: Set oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Prepare strawberries: Cook the strawberries with castor sugar and corn flour, to make the strawberry jam.

Prepare cream cheese filling: In a bowl, mix cream cheese, icing sugar, lemon juice, almond essence, and vanilla essence until smooth.

Roll out dough: Place short crust pastry on parchment-lined tray.

Assemble galette: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the center of the pastry, leaving about a 5 cm (2-inch) border. Layer the strawberry jam on top.

Fold the edges: Gently fold the outer edges of the dough over the filling, pleating as you go to form a rustic border.

Egg wash: Brush the crust with beaten egg, and sprinkle crushed hazelnuts.

Bake: Bake for 35 minutes until the crust is golden and the strawberries are bubbly.
- Sugar sprinkle: sprinkle lightly with icing sugar and drizzled some melted dark chocolate on top.
